The Court of Appeal has sacked the lawmaker representing Saki West State Constituency, Hon Shittu Ibrahim. Recall that INEC had earlier declared Mr Shittu Ibrahim of the All Peoples Congress (APC) as winner of the election held on 18th March, 2023. It declared that Ibrahim scored 13,692 votes to defeat the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Julius Okedoyin, who scored 13,422 votes. The Oyo State Government has set a December 31 deadline for all commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators to enrol with the Oyo State Residents’ Registration Scheme. To this end, no unregistered motorcycle or tricycle operator will be allowed to operate in the state from January 1, 2024. State governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, gave this ultimatum shortly after the state’s Security Council Meeting on Wednesday. The Chiefs in Ibadanland, including Baales and Mogajis, have told the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, that there is no controversy over ownership of Ogburo, a boundary community between Oyo and Osun State. A retired Permanent Secretary with the Oyo State Government, Ms Olaitan Gbenle, has been murdered by unknown assailants. Newspeakonline reports. The 69-year-old Gbenle was gruesomely murdered at her residence, along All Saints College Road, Idi Ishin, near NIHORT, last week. Gbenle was strangulated after her assailants tied her hands and legs. She was found with her hands and legs tied on Friday morning while she still had the dress she wore on Thursday on her.
