We Don’t Want To Die Like Sugar, Segelu – APC Aspirants Reject Lalupon As Venue

Three aspirants out of four contesting for the House of Representatives’ seat in Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency under the platform of the APC have rejected Lalupon Town Hall as venue for the conduct of the primary.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the aspirants, Arc Hassan Giwa, Olasupo Philips and Modinat Adeyemo, stated that they have written petition to the Commissioner of Police and Director of the State Security Service (DSS) to come to their rescue, complaining that the proposed Lalupon Town Hall is not safe for their lives, lives of the delegates, the members of the electoral panel and members of the party.

The aspirants in the statement further condemned the action of Hon. Wasiu Lafioye Akinmoyede for toying with the lives of others over his proposition to hold the primary at Lalupon.

They alleged that Hon. Lafioye is forcing and threatening the lives of the Chairmen of the party in Lagelu and Akinyele Local Governments, Hon. Fatai Awoyoola and Engr. Akinbode Emmanuel by imposing his choice of venue on them.

Arc Giwa, Mr. Philips and Mrs. Adeyemo said that conducting the party primary at Lalupon Town Hall, which is the home town of Hon. Lafioye is tantamount to playing with one’s dear life.

They clarified that it was the same Lalupon that Hon. Temitope Olatoye Sugar and Segun Oladimeji (Segelu) were murdered

The aspirants, therefore, called on Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Director of the State Security Service and other security operatives in the state to rescue from Hon. Lafioye who they alleged that he has hidden plans with his intention to hold the primary in his home town.

They also called on well-meaning leaders and members of the party to remain calm and unshakeable in the name of intimidation from Hon. Lafioye, saying that the will of the party will prevail at the end of the day.
